What We Do: Policy Dialogue and Support

EQUALL engages with the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service and the Curriculum Research Development Division to review the results and the information gleaned from EQUALL programs as it relates to Ghana’s overall education reform process. Policy dialogue and support is designed to encourage information flow.

meetingSchool Performance Improvement Plans

EQUALL together with GAIT II used the lessons learnt from their activities to encourage the GES to review their guidelines on how to draw up School Performance Improvement Plans. EQUALL advocated more community involvement when preparing School Performance Improvement Plans.

School Management Committees

EQUALL encouraged the GES in its need to strengthen School Management Committees and Parent Teacher Associations and strategies that can be used to mobilise communities to support education.

Planning Budgeting Monitoring and Evaluation

EQUALL held discussions with the Planning, Budgeting, Monitoring, and Evaluation (PBME) unit on the lessons learned from working with partner districts on monitoring and evaluation. In the wake of this a national seminar was organised to review the existing monitoring and evaluation framework developed by the Ministry of Education, with the view towards incorporating, where possible, lessons learned by EQUALL.

Complementary Basic Education Policy
