Al-Hassan Andani
Coordinator, Complementary Education Program
Mr. Andani has diverse training experience in education and has worked for more than a decade in community mobilization in Ghana. His background served him well while managing the Complementary Education Program, which was heavily dependent on community involvement. He is a specialist in Ghanaian Language Literacy and Numeracy delivery and has been a trainer and facilitator for both governmental and non-governmental organisations. He was a district trainer for the Non-Formal Education Division of the Ministry of Education. His experience with mother-tongue literacy includes working at School for Life, a Danish-sponsored NGO based in Northern Ghana that developed the mother-tongue literacy approach used by EQUALL’s Complementary Education Program. His school experience includes being a classroom teacher, the head of the English and Ghanaian Language department at a business school, and the Headmaster of a Junior Secondary school. He then became an examiner in Ghanaian Language and Culture with the West African Examination Council. In his community mobilization work, Mr. Andani guides communities to participate actively in their own development. He has a degree in Ghanaian Language and Culture from the University of Education at Winneba, Ghana.
