Peter Agyeman-Gyekye
Associate Director for Finance and Administration
Peter has 13 years experience in finance, accounting and administration and 10 years experience in grant fund management for international non-governmental organizations in Ghana. His financial experience includes successful management of $2 million Ford Foundation sponsored funding of Multi Media Africa Project (1.5 years as a project accountant); $11.188 million USAID-sponsored funding of the Community School Alliances project through Education Development Center Inc (6 years as Deputy Director for Finance and Operations); and now manages $27.31 million USAID-sponsored funding of the 6-year EQUALL project through Education Development Center. He has experience and knowledge in donor operating procedures and reporting requirements for USAID, Education Development Center, CARE and Save the Children. He also has experience of personnel management, logistics management, inventory management and general administrative procedures. He has over 10 years knowledge and experience in micro grants management (86 districts ), district grants management (20 districts) and subcontractor grants-fund management through reviewing budgets, financial reporting and overseeing of disbursement, tracking, monitoring utilization and reconciling of grants. He has also provided information, guidance and training on grants management and compliance issues by issuing performance reports and queries leading to avoidance of unallowable and conflict of interest expenditures. He is a firm but honest, transparent team player, a resourceful and committed person and a good negotiator as well as being a best trainer in financial and administrative controls and office setups for start-up projects. He holds Bsc. in Administration (accounting option) degree from University of Ghana and he is awaiting his Executive MBA from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and Part 2 of Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana).
